Registration for 2008 is now officially closed.  Information on when the 2009 registration period will begin will soon be available on this website.   Please remember that USSF is responsible for mailing out the recertification packets.  Included in that packet will be complete instructions on when and how to register for 2009.

So You Have Not Received Your Badge or I.D. Card!!

If your name is listed on the 2008 list of registered officials and you have not received your 2008 badge or ID card, please contact USSF directly as they are responsible for mailing out the packets.

ASSIGNORS

This year the SRC will be hosting 2 assignor recertification clinics.  Assignors must participate in at least one of the sessions to meet the 2009 requirements.

Food will be provided by the SRC in order to have team working sessions without leaving the training site.  It is important for Assignors to meet at least once a year to:

 

· share the latest directives from USSF

· review the concepts of effective assigning

· reconnect with fellow assignors

· help new assignors and,

· improve the working relationship between all the referee associations

Declaration of National Candidacy Form

The below information is very important for grade All Grade 5 referees who would like to obtain National Referee Certification in 2010. If after reading the information you have any questions please contact Tom Bobadilla by clicking on his name.

 

From the U.S. Soccer Communications Center:

 

All Grade 5 referees who would like to obtain National Referee Certification in 2010 must file a Declaration of National Candidacy Form to announce their intention.  

The form must be completed by the referee and signed by the SRA.  
The form can be submitted to the National Office any time between December 1 and December 30, 2008.

· Candidates must have a State 1 grade date of January 1, 2008 or earlier to be eligible.

· Candidates must attain the age of 23 before January 1, 2010.

· Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Proof of a candidate’s residency status must be sent with the declaration form. 

Proof of residency status can be a U.S. Birth Certificates, copies of naturalization papers and/ or a copy of a permanent resident card (Referees who are being interviewed for a change in status are not eligible. Referees here on student visas are not eligible. For other categories, check with our office).

 

Candidates must attend a scheduled U.S. Soccer Referee Training Seminar and pass the physical fitness test at the training seminar to qualify for professional league assignments.

Assessments to be counted for upgrade must be done between December 1, 2008 and November 30, 2009.   
Candidates are required to obtain 5 assessments at the designated level – 3 centers and 2 lines.  
One center assessment must be done by a designated Referee Inspector.   
Please note that the list of designated Referee Inspectors may change at certain times during the year. 
Be sure to check it periodically while you are working on your assessments.  (If you are assessed by someone posted on this list and later find that the list has changed, your assessment will still count.)  Obtaining an assessment by one of the designated Referee Inspectors is the responsibility of the candidate and will require advance planning.

The names of candidates will be posted on the web along with a notation about the status of the application.  
Inclusion on the list of National Candidates posted on the web page does not guarantee assignment to any particular level. 
Assignments are always based on ability and availability.

Important Information

If You Are

Planning On Upgrading to and/or, Maintaining a State Level Grade.

We have now obtained official approval to:

 

1. Extend the deadline for completing the assessments for the 2009 registration year, into 2009.

2. Waive one assessment.  This is just a one-time action that applies only to the 2009 registration year.  The waived assessment will not have to be done later.

 

We thank Mr. Brooks McCormick, National Referee Committee Chairman, for considering and acting on our requests that will help our state referees meet their requirements for 2009.

 

Referees please submit your registration application, paperwork ASAP, as we're tracking your progress in meeting the requirements.
